A friend of mine is working on starting an online equipment business––guns, accessories, scopes, parts, etc. (I will advise him to advertise here, when he is ready) He asked me to help with a logo... he said, "help me find a tactical looking font" Now, I'm not real sure what a "tactical font" looks like... seems like some use stencil type fonts, others custom sci-fi looking ones. So help a brother out. Can you suggest a "tactical font"? |

Typefaces are actually very important to identity. Choosing the right one is normally not a quick process and should be considered very carefully. Since "tactical" usually implies efficiency and speed, i would suggest some sort of geometric or neo-grotesque san-serif typeface. This will convey to the audience boldness, a modern sensibility, and the favor of function over form.
Not knowing what his logo looks like i would not be able to suggest any one particular typeface. |
