Quoted: Damn! That looks a lot better than the Chinese buffets around here!3-5 but I dont use up all the space and go vertical on the plate. Typical plates for me..these were both from the same visit... https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/474416_3520394773671_1574764392_o.jpg https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/467789_3520343172381_2059987071_o.jpg Another visit... https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/331771_2636769443590_1127833466_o.jpg https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc7/334570_2636741482891_1005914649_o.jpg https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc7/340160_2636711602144_86533068_o.jpg https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/331336_2636686761523_1288202717_o.jpg |

Quoted: 3-5 but I dont use up all the space and go vertical on the plate. I only go to one specific place near me, and I am always the minority. It is good food, and it does not last long so it does not sit long. That is actually some damn decent looking sushi for a buffet. However looks may be deceiving. |

Usually just to fuck with the staff, I ask what the Chinese people in the secluded section are eating. I've never once seen Chinese people eat at a Chinese buffet. That's a red flag right there. If Chinese won't eat it, why should I? Nothing wrong with the buffet food, just that it's Americanized "Chinese" food. The Chinese friends and extended family in the reserved party room are probably eating a bunch of stuff like poached turtle nads, and deep fried scorpions on a stick, followed by a course of sea cucumber soup or something... And I'm really jealous of the buffets that put out all that sushi. None I've seen around Milwaukee do it, save one place, now gone, that just had grocery store style "California roll" with crab stix in the center. Must be because they haven't hired a Mexican to make the good sushi yet.

Ever since I heard about Chinese buffets scraping uneaten food from plates and putting it back out on the buffet, I've avoided them. Do you also not check coin return slots because of the AIDS needles commonly hidden in them? Just checking as to how far your paranoia extends. |

Some of the BEST "chinese" style food I ever had was ordered off a menu that you had to ask for at a buffet place. The food off the menu was nothing like the buffet, even the same entrees. They also delivered, but you needed to make sure you asked for "menu" entree when ordering over phone. Lunch special was $5 for pork or chicken entree (always roll pork) with pork fried rice and egg roll.

No, he just checks all the seats at the theater with leather gloves first, and wears em while pumping gas... Daniel |

If Chinese won't eat it, why should I? Most buffets don't serve Chinese food, they serve American adaptations of some very fast and loose interpretations of Chinese food. We have several buffets in my AO that have very good and very fresh traditional food where I am often the only white guy in the joint when we visit. Oddly, these places are usually cleaner and less expensive than their Americanized counterparts in the area. Actually houston has several very good choices for buffets of many ethnic foods, Indian, Asian (all kinds), Mediterranean, Greek, Italian, Brazilian and German, to name a few. I love the food scene in this town. |
