If you have an Android device and you can build puzzles, you're set:

I made one in spring 2011.  Sales were so-so, but the overall quality could have been better too.

It is a very noisy marketplace (android and iOS both) where you either win big or make small change.

Not a game guy. I just had a cool idea and there's not one like it yet. May be able to be first but I'll do a search for it again later.

My advice to you is this:

Don't put up a bunch of money to develop the app.  So many people come crashing in thinking they will drop 10 G's and make millions.  This is very rare.  The absolute vast majority of apps, even many good quality ones, simply disappear down the charts never to be seen again.  Either learn to develop it yourself, or see if your idea is good enough that you can find somebody to do it for you in their spare time based on a shared % or some alternate payment plan.  This is a good acid test on what others think of your idea.

Just remember this (and it applies doubly with apps and small software): Ideas are like assholes; Everybody has one.  Ideas alone won't make the money.  Its mostly about attracting customers.

You need to buy star ratings just like many who do.
