How lucky they are to be Americans? We live in a land of opportunity, abundance, wealth and freedom. You are truly limited only by your drive to succeed.
We gripe about how much it costs to fill up our two or three cars when most people in the world don't have a car. We get mad when the store is out of our favorite foods when many have none. we gripe that we are underpaid when many live by subsistence. If our internet is down and we can't facebook we think that the stone age has resurfaced when there are people in the world that have never heard of electricity.
Most of the things we take for granted as a part of our daily lives do not exist in most of the world. We do not lack for clean water or food. We have a good education system even though it has its problems. We have freedoms that are only dreamed of in many places.  When we have a shortage of something it is not really any big deal.

Just food for thought.

We built that.

Losing what we have built sucks. It sucks more when our own people want to tear it down.

I did not realize how lucky I was until I went to Iraq.

I now laugh at our "first world" problems, and have a much stronger drive to succeed.

Most of our people are clueless whiners, and see my siglines.

It truly is. Once I saw my first Iraqi supermarket on the roadside, I understood why Gorbachev and his entourage had been in awe when they came here, and why his assistant took coffee back to Russia with him. What we take for granted, most will NEVER have. It is a sad fact of life, and while I am not preachy or overly religious, there is truth to the fact that we are blessed by divine providence to live in such a bountiful nation.

As for service, no need to thank me. I actually thank the taxpayer. It gave me a really different outlook and understanding. In the end, it gave me meaning and now a new focus. My goal in life is to help my fellow American, and build a better life of personal prosperity and future for my children.

I can say that I still get chills everytime I walk past the Flag, to understand it's meaning and impact upon our lives as a symbol. I am proud to be an American, regardless of our differences politically, socially, and economically because I know that we are truly the land of opportunity and if a person tries, that the American Dream is still within reach.

Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

Didn't say anything about using other countries as a measuring stick and yes if we stop striving for betterment we may as well throw in the towel.

The point is that YOU are fortunate to have been born an American. After all, you could have been born North Korean or even worse.

Take every whining, entitlement craving, gimme gimme gimme, commie dick sucking, Libtard and take them to a 3rd world nation...perhaps in Africa...and show them what being poor is...so they can learn to appreciate where they live.
