The AMMO FAQ page is freaking out and I need some help. I have the chance to buy a quantity of ammo that is not in an original container.
The headstamp has LC . 92 . . (nato cross) . .
Is this M193 or M855?
All help appreciated.

It could be M855 or M193.
Does it have green tips? If so, it's M855.
M193 isn't NATO spec, but LC used some NATO marked brass to load M193.

Thanks Big Bear. When did M855 start getting green tipped? Would you worry about the ammo being 10 years old? I fired a 20 round sample and everything seemed OK. Couldnt chrono it, but it cycled my rifle fine.

I corrected a slight error in my response above. Sorry 'bout that.
BTW, the ammo FAQ has been moved here.
Don't worry about it being ten years old. Stored properly, ammo keeps much longer than that.
