Can anyone tell me if there is a difference between these 2 Velocity Systems plate backers sold at SKD and OP Tactical?
They sound the same but look different. Plus, OP Tactical says their medium is 10x13 and not 10x12........would that have an issue in the Mayflower APC? SKD OP Tactical The backers at OP Tactical look like the ones here on the Velocity Systems website (hover over the picture and it will enlarge –– you can see the stripes and that the cut matches) but the model numbers are different. OP Tactical is Model # VS-SAPPB-13A Velocity System Model #: VS-BPPB-model That's the only soft armor backer listed on Velocity's website so I assume it is their most current. Does this mean the OP Tactical backer is an older model? Is the backers at SKD different? Older? Newer? I appreciate the help. I'm having issues getting the armor at SKD. I live in OH and have an OH DL and Ohio CCW license. The address on my Ohio DL is my parents' address which is the address I entered the military at and is my official home of record. As most of you military guys know, you don't become a new resident of new cities and states every time you PCS. I keep my parents address as my home of record because it is the only permanent place I have to utilize for taxes and voting. However, I got my CCW license here in the city we are currently stationed in, so it has my current address on it. Sean at SKD is trying to get an answer for me since their policy is the armor MUST ship to the address on your DL, even though I don't currently reside there but my Concealed Carry License has my current address, which is where the armor will ship. So.....I may just go with OP tactical as they said it would be fine as long as the name on my state issued ID matches the purchase order. But I just want to make sure there aren't any differences in product. Thanks for your help. |
