Dunno, I think it will be kinda "fun" but I'm not sure about the douchebagginess of it.
I'd feel kinda funny trying to explain that I'm in some sorta unarmed "military" unit that awnsers to the governor. Apparently I shot with a 1 star general last weekend and had no idea  . I like it because I work 6 days a week and my boss will be forced to give me a saturday off a month to let me go play army man...

Which would'nt be true. My ex-karate instructer who was a Marine was at one time a recruiter and most of the people i've met and heard of were prior service. They are not a private militia, but under the authority of the state of Virginia. |

The lit said that you can be called out by the Govenor of VA, if:
A. The Governor or his designee may call forth the militia or any part thereof to state active duty for service in any of the following circumstances:
1. In the event of invasion or insurrection or imminent threat of either; Also, in the training course IIA it said you can't be armed unless authorized. That makes you two things: 1. The Govs bitch whether you like it or not and 2. Connon fodder IMHO...screw that |
