I am trying to set up my bosses Outlook Express 6 with his yahoo account.   I have tried setting the out going port at the 2 settings suggested 995 and 587.  I have the incoming port set at 465.   I can neither send nor receive email through OE  I get this notification every time (The server does not support a SSL connection. Account: 'pop3.yahoo.com', Server: 'plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '250 8BITMIME', Port: 587, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 250, Error Number: 0x800CCC7D)  what do I need to?

Tell your boss to get with the times and at least use that crap mail through a browser, that way when he grenades his next XP install in a few weeks it won't be a hassle to get him setup again.

He does not know if they have an antivirus program on here and I can not find anything outside the Windows firewall etc.

I am getting this message failure now

The Serever you are connected to is using a security certificate that can not be verified

A certificate chain processed, but terminated in a root certificate which is not trusted by the provider

Shouldnt your setting read pop.mail.yahoo.com without the 3?

Ok I have an idea here, is there a free Email that will work better with Outlook Express?  I can set up that account with his OE and then forward his yahoo mail into the other account.  I think that would work

Talk him into using Thunderbird.

And if he has no AV on there at least put AVG free on it or something. www.free.avg.com

This is a GM dealer, he also told me, we do have a "Gm firewall" in the back and pointed to a back closet. I did not go investigate to find out what a "GM firewall" in the back closet was.  I was pissed at that point, after finding out he waisted all my time, I spent all evening last night trying to figure this out because he didnt want to pay Larry to come out.
