Is good stuff.  Tony Soprano and other Italians might not have the best taste when it comes to personal attire and interior decorating.  They do have impeccable tastes when it comes to food and booze.

I wouldn't get drunk on this stuff but a couple of shots on ice after diner

Riddle me this.

Have you tried sticking your pinky out when drinking this nectar?  It noticeably improves the taste.

Too sweet = major hangovers the next day.

I prefer Pernod with mineral water.

Sambuca shots remind me of a couple of New Years Eves I spent in Venice.....

Good stuff, can fuck you up.

Don't try doing shots of that stuff...especially if you hate black licorice/anise.

What do you think Sambuca is flavored with?

I actually "grew up" drinking Becherovka, or as my Oma called it "Becherbitter".  Now that stuff will kick you in the nuts.

In espresso?  I used to like one small glass of Sambuca with an espresso after dinner, but anymore I kind of prefer grappa.  Not sweet and syrupy like Sambuca but with all the kick.

I was speaking about the pastis.  We were running out of alcohol last night and somebody grabbed the Ricard.  I didn't realize what was being poured in the shot glasses.  I can tolerate it mixed with some water, but not straight up.

Go for real Ouzo instead.

Grappa OTOH, is called Italian Gasoline for a very good reason.

the cause of many bad decisions in sirensong's history.  3 coffee beans, and it means trouble––that's why i usually limit myself to della notte.

In another life as a young Serviceman stationed in Italy,I danced with Grappa a few times, that shit should come with a warning label!! Maybe it did but who the hell could read Italian at that point. Sambuca was served as an after dinner drink,as already stated, with a few beans. Awesome.

That's the only alcohol that has ever made me staggering drunk. Thankfully a buddy propped me up and dragged me home before I burned down half of Rome.
