VACAVILLE (CBS13) – A man was shot in front of the Vacaville Police
Department on Thursday afternoon after he reportedly pulled out a knife
and lunged at officers.

The shooting happened some time around 3:30 p.m. and the man was shot twice in the chest, according to the Vacaville Reporter.

Emergency crews responded to the steps of the police station at 660
Merchant Street and an air ambulance helicopter was called to the scene.
Streets have been blocked off in the area to allow the helicopter to
land and to process the scene.

The condition on the suspect wasn’t immediately available. No officers were harmed in the incident.
