Everyone else enjoying theirs?
Finally got one of the 16gb versions the other day at Walmart over the tax free weekend during a vacation to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge (I recommend neither of the locations). I thought they were all out but apparently they just didn't even have them in the display case! Been playing with it the past few days and its a very nice little toy. The battery life is absolutely outstanding! I have no need for a tablet bigger than this- I have a couple of laptops and I don't want something the size of a Transformer/Ipad. I bought my Dad a Kindle Fire over Christmas, and as nice as that was for what it was, not being leashed to the Amazon store and the hardware of the Nexus 7 is just dandy. Lack of expandable memory is kind of lame, but certainly not a deal breaker. I'm a pretty big drop box user and for small tv shows and books (Lots of books) it serves me very well, and browsing is much faster than my phone, plus the display and sound quality is very good, better than most other tablets I've handled, and certainly better than any other in the price range. For the sort of things I need (lots of reading articles and papers for class, and quick browsing on the fly) the 7" tablets are just perfect. I also got $25 of credit for the Android market, but I don't know what to buy. Never been big on buying apps, since most of them are such niche things. And the android store shows only a single gun magazine for purchase- Recoil, which I've never heard of. |
