[ARCHIVED THREAD] - 100 ROUND CLIPS (Page 1 of 2)

| Fienstien says the 100 round "clip" was the problem, when you put one of those 100 round "clips" in a military style weapon you do not have a chance. She also questions why anyone would need it since most states regulate the number of rounds you can have in your "clip" while hunting. What a idiot, in her logic I guess the buckshot he was shooting was not a problem, just the hundred round "clip". |
|
The internet is the only place that clip isn't interchangeable with magazine.
Even JMB called detachable magazines "clips" in some of his patents. I know that will upset some of the purists, but face it, languages evolve. Always have and always will. Y'all should get over it. |

I saw that interview and caught a few more gaffes as it pertains to firearms.
Here's my problem with this smelly old hag............ You would think that after thirty years of making this her pet project and trying to get bills passed to ban all evil firearms, she would have gained at least just a little knowledge of firearms or at least get some of the terminology down. maybe just enough to see that she really doesn't know what the fuck she's rattling on about. i would love to see someone in an interview correct her after every one of these stupid comments. |

I found 50 round clips in olive green for $13.31 ......but it says they jam http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=223624920&listingid=212411377# ![]() |

I almost bought a beta mag last night as a panic/impulse buy, but I knew they were often unreliable, so I passed. It was ironic to hear that the CO shooter's mag jammed after that. I've been so close to buying one for my 9MM several times. The reputation of them being unreliable and the fact that my 9MM is finicky when it comes to mags anyway always made me not do it. If I ever get a M16, I'm going to get the 9MM one just for the ool factor of mag dumping 100 rounds full auto.

Knowledge, accuracy and truth don't enter the equation. It would take away from the biased 'spin' that dribbles out. I, too would love to see a knowledgeable interviewer point out her "inaccuracies". Good luck with that happening. HKO |

I know calling for any kind of ban pisses people off, but think about this for a second. Something like this shooting happens and the left's response is to propose banning high cap magazines. Granted it's an election year but I think even the most retarded of them realize that gun bans are political suicide. Maybe it's hard to look at this in any kind of positive light but look how far we've come.

The pro-gun senator let us down.
He's right, it's NOT about hunting or "should" and very much about freedom - and you really can't prevent an intelligent sociopath from doing something. But at the same time the logic of banning things that might be dangerous also implies that fertilizer, airplanes, fast cars, large trucks, and even 5 gallon plastic buckets should be banned to prevent further loss of life. The theory breaks down in reality - but makes for a great political argument on TV by people who don't know the difference between bullets, cartridges; and 1800 page bills they have to pass (for our own well being and safety) so they can find out what's actually in it. Chris Wallace made the best point: what if a responsible gun owner was there, and stopped the threat before the guy even made it into another theater? |
|
It's bullshit because I can't remember the last mass shooter that used a drum magazine, yet after every one of these incidents the same people are crying to Do Something. It makes great political theater to thunder on with righteous indignation against someone. In this case that someone is the NRA, gun owners, tea partiers, republicans, etc. |

I have a 100 round mag. I like it for practicing long range accurate shooting. I can just sit down and shoot round after round without having to break my rythim (which I can't seem to spell...) to reload. One of the experts on FOX said during this that 100 round mags were illegal... He's wrong... I would totally go hunting with my 100 round mag if they would let me. But that's beside the point... the 2nd is not about hunting. |

Quoted: ABC News shows the shooters "arsenal" and gets to the "S&W High Power Assault Rifle" then shows a pic of Ruger SR556. ![]() Not sure which is worse. All that or calling .223/5.56 high power. Whats your problem with calling 223/5.56 high power? Have you ever seen what people use at NRA high power matches? |

That's a technicality. It IS "high power" compared to a .22LR, but lets face it, our military and most of our LEO are using a varmint round and their success is in spite of it not because of it. Maybe it means they're recently circumcised. Could explain the angry looks. |

I'm still waiting to see the "clip" that holds more than 100 rounds to show up. According to the police chief, that's what the guy had. A "clip that can hold over 100 rounds" ![]() http://i1191.photobucket.com/albums/z476/mongo0011/Garand100rdclip2.jpg Damn, does that spring out the top or drop out the bottom? |
