carrying a gun in a prohibitedplace will get u in trouble....i can get out of trouble.. can't get out of dead It's not a prohibited place here in CO. You can walk right past the sign with your gun, but if they ask you to leave because of it and you refuse, you can be charged with trespassing. That's my understanding anyway. The simple answer to your question is that nobody with a gun had a good opportunity to act. If someone in the theater did have a pistol, they would be severely outgunned in a rifle fight. Their only hope is surprise and being close enough to minimize the rifles advantages. |

Prohibited place. Movie theater had up "no gun" signs. But the signs didn't stop the shooter. Hmmm... Maybe they needed more signs or bigger signs or more bigger signs. That would have done the trick. I'm just sure of it. there has to be some sort of legal point where they specifically chose to not allow people to have guns/protection and because of that the job of security falls on them. I'm not that savvy on this type of thing.....but if I was forced to leave my gun in the car or at home to have either myself or my loved ones shot like fish in a barrel there has to be something there. I guess not since I have not heard anything like that coming from the V tech shooting or anywhere else.....but it is wrong. I know its their place, their property, and their rules.....but really. Why force people to be disarmed? You only penalize law abiding citizens. |

Prohibited place. Movie theater had up "no gun" signs. Can we confirm that this is true? Link? I can confirm its true. RMGO has the theater listed on their database of "no ccw wanted" businesses. As other posters have said, no gun signs don't mean jack shit here though. |

You never fire until you are absolutely sure of your target plus what is behind it. Now apply that to a fully occupied, gas filled theater while everyone is going full bat shit. Then you don't fire. It's as simple as that. Otherwise, if you have the shot, take it. |

Or you might be in a row that is not affected yet. |

in all the confusion and with other people dressed in costumes, you could easily shoot the wrong guy in that type of situation, plus low light conditions You never fire until you are absolutely sure of your target plus what is behind it. I'd probably roll the dice on the Tier One fucker with the shotgun. |

I'd probably roll the dice on the Tier One fucker with the shotgun. Then you would have positively identified your target. Just make sure there is a place behind him to catch your pellets of death. |
