I have a toshiba laptop that the screen doesn't work, so I have a monitor connected to it.
Well the monitor stopped working after I removed the battery from the laptop. I cant remember if the display setting in XP has to be set to external or if I just had it plugged in and it worked. Problem is there is no way to see what I'm doing. Well except for about 1/3 of the screen on laptop works but is faded out and fuzzy. |

Most laptops require the battery to be present to operate, don't they? Only if the power cable isn't plugged in. Most I've seen will run just fine without. As mentioned, there should be a blue "Fn" key on the laptop. One of the F keys at the top of the keyboard should have a little image that looks like a couple screens laid over top of each other. Hold the Fn key, hit that screen button. There'll be three settings, laptop screen, external screen, both. |

Unless there is a control panel setting that I did it before. |

Sometimes it will start beeping and shut off even though its plugged in to the adapter. And while doing this the battery light doesn't come on. All good for now though. |
