I downloaded pics from my camera(Samsung SL202). They downloaded OK, but now the camera will not take pics, only shows "no image file". Also if I try starting to take a movie it will completely shut off.

What did I do? And can I fix it?

Did you re-format the card via the camera menu? If not, that's a good start.

Downloading will not clear your card. You need to empty it now so you can take more pics.

If you have everything off the camera (and are sure) - just use the camera to reformat the storage and then make sure its completely charged.

If necessary - pull the battery for a full minute - then replace.

Reformating did it. Now I can take pics. but what pics I had in memory are now gone. Did I not unplug unit from my computer correctly for this to happen?

Other cameras I just removed the usb cord and all was good to go, and pics were still on the camera till I erased them.

Your pics were on the camera and you never transferred them. Then you unplugged and formatted your card. So your pics are gone. Is that right?
