Quoted: Good shit, but holy hell is it expensive. https://www.goathleticapparel.com/ 100% made and in the USA, even the materials, better quality than Under Armor (or Nike Combat, or anything else out there that is all Vietnamese or whatever), and cheaper. Yes, cheaper. They don't have the extensive catalog or colors that U/A does, but it's preemo shit and great folks too. Their cold gear base layers are fucking awesome, absolutely blows the U/A stuff away. I wear the compression stuff every day on my commute, it's great. |

I'll check that out. Thanks. |

I love UA. I have replaced almost all of my boxer briefs with their compression shorts. It's a world of difference, especially since I work mostly outside and I'm moving around a lot. I wear the long (9") compression shorts when working out or playing softball. I also like their loose fit undershirts. I don't own any top-wear by them other than a hoodie my wife bought me.
ETA: I also own a pair of football cleats made by UA. I use them for softball since I can't find any baseball cleats that fit me right. |

Quality seems on par with the big name companys. The company must have good marketing people to come so far so fast. Started in his grandma's basement in 1996. Wiki |

The UA outlet store near me has there stuff priced on par with Old Navy, Target, ect....
I only have one item from them which is running shorts with the 5" inseam that I like, not a baggy fan. I believe they ended up being about $15. I'll probably pick up a pair of the fitted pants for winter running and a couple of compressions shirts to replace some cheap ones that wore out. As long as the pricing hangs in there or I catch their sales I'll be adding more to the drawer. |

I would disagree that UA is better than the Target ( Champion ?) brand stuff. I have a little of both and find that it performs roughly the same, and seems to be built to the same quality. That said, the Target stuff is way cheaper, hence I buy more of that... I have some of the Target stuff (Champion or "CG"), and while I like them (the shorts/boxer briefs), I find the sizing is inconsistent (some I bought in L fit well, bought three more pairs in L and they are very tight), a couple had stitching around the leg that started coming loose after one was, and now after about a year, the oldest pairs are starting to fall apart. The front stitching close to the waist band is coming apart. Two pairs have holes in them now. I got one pair of UA to try them out, and found that a L was a bit tight (no, I didn't gain weight, I've actually lost a few lb in the last month or so), but it fits well. Hopefully they will stand up to several years of washing almost weekly. |

I like Under Armour's stuff, I just won't buy it. They are headquartered in Baltimore MD, and MD does not have shall issue, or open carry... and since they do not, I do not want tax dollars to go to a government that is oppressing its peoples basic rights.
I feel if I do not buy their product, then none of my hard earned money will fill the coffers of the state. I am but one person, but if we all care about our rights, who know's, maybe more of us will find that voting with our wallets, and our feet is just as powerful as our actual vote. |

Yes, cheaper. I refuse to wear Under Armor because of how it's polluted the market for poly-wear. Back before this company started up I could buy polypro under shirts and bottoms all day long for $15-20 a piece... Out comes this company with a genius of a marketing strategy behind it, and all of a sudden people are shelling out >$50 for a single shirt. I love me some capitalism, but I also refuse to buy over-priced goods. I'll have to keep this Go Athletic Apparel in mind. |

I order my UA for 20-25$ all the time. I wear my UA compression heat gear nearly every day, it keeps me cool when its 120 out here in Afghanistan. |

Quoted: I wore them for football and lacrosse and they lasted 3 years of getting washed twice a week. They are finally starting to thin in the crotch some but I only use them for swimming and wade fishing now. The target/walmart brands never lasted for me but the academy brand is holding up so far.Quoted: I would disagree that UA is better than the Target ( Champion ?) brand stuff. He actually had me convinced that I should try some of the off brand stuff at the end of the conversation. A couple days after that I tore a seam on one of my pairs of UA 9" Boxerjock's. At $20 a pair I was a pretty bummed, but I happened to check the website and saw they offer a lifetime warranty, no questions asked. I printed off their form and have sent the pair in to be exchanged, they also offer a gift card if you'd rather that. Now I'm not sure how the warranty is on the other stuff, but I highly doubt it's as good as the UA warranty. For the small price difference between the off brand and UA, I'm going with UA. |

I've got some older U/A stuff, it's held up really well on the fabric side...but the logos are fading/peeling and look like hell. Big whoop, they're workout shirts, but synthetics last a long time generally. Check out the Go Athletic stuff I posted above - it's nicer than U/A stuff IMHO, and being a small US company is reason enough to choose them over sweatshop stuff. |

They're fine I have a UA Cold Gear top that I picked up at either TJMAXX or Marshalls as an overrun or second- it's fine. I have a UA compression top and the Target equivelant. I bought the UA from an as-is/ clearance liquidation sale at Dick's for about $2 more than I paid for my Target top. Both are, like you said very functional. However, I have found that the material in the UA top is slightly more comfortable than the material in the Target version. I wouldn't pay full price for UA, but if I would be glad to buy it on discount in the future. I also have a pair of UA running shorts. Again, very nice, but not something that I would have paid full price for. My brother could probably be a UA model with all of the gear he's got It's good stuff, he swears by it and even buys it for retail prices |

Quoted: Quoted: I bought one of the shirts recently on sale, I know why they are popular now. It made me look like a roided out steroid monster. Bought the kid's size, didn't ya? I thought so at first, then realized they tailor them to make you look huge. Good idea really. I still prefer an over sized tshirt though for working out, well cotton in general I prefer. |

I took a look, but they don't do any boxer briefs. The compression shorts might be good for long rides, tho. I bought a pair of LD Comfort shorts to try out for motorcycle rides, but don't like them. The material is great, but there is no.. uh... 'support', and I freaking hate when my junk gets beneath me while riding. I like the boxerjocks and the like for the support. The seams on the ass never really bothered me much. For shirts and such, I have a few synthetic tees that I wear while riding when it's hot, but that hasn't been to much lately. They work well and have held up pretty well so far. |

Having worked for Under Armour, I can tell you that their marketing strategy is to price everything they make above their competitors. It is very much a brand driven company and you are paying a premium for that logo. I'm biased towards them. UMD grad and the founder is from my area.

We are now closer to shall issue than ever before. You know why? Support. The pro-2A residents of this state have worked their ass off to get where we are. ETA: Going off your username, are you by any chance a former MD resident? |

Those are only shirts. Need shorts. |

I cannot recommend these shirts highly enough...
Hydrowick ACU Shirts Made in America, $8/shirt. Granted, they only come in one color. |

I have some underware from them that is over six years old and still looks good as new. Under Armor boxers are the gift I give my balls. Good stuff worth the price IMO. |
