I never spent much time watching those fishing tournament on the ESPN, but the few time I did watch, I wasn't seeing many fatties. Pouring what little money they win into the latest and greatest gear (when it's not provided by sponsors), and whats leftover you use for the bills and eating, well, they aren't eating much... Not everyone in pro golf, fishing tourneys, rodeo, etc, is making good money. The low rankers often have day jobs just to live. |

My cousin spent 300 days last year on the water either fishing, prefishing, or guiding. Rain, shine, cold, sick as a dog... $400/day or more on a guide trip sounds great until you realize what gas costs and how much you can burn in a day.... He also cleared well into 6 figures.... (ETA: the year before he cleared half as much... that's a pretty wide swing) |

I used to fish FLW and BASS events - After a full week of all day fishing - practice and tournament, you are both mentally and physically exhausted and need at least a day of rest / all day driving to the next venue. There were a few fat guys and a few fat older guys - I don't know how they did it. I'm fit and shit just starts hurting after being on your feet doing repetitive motions all day every day.
