I would appreciate any help that could be provided in this matter:
My GF and I signed our son up for a basketball league with Diversity Youth Sports. The league was poorly run to the point that it was almost laughable. Long story short, the season was canceled before it began. They have a no refund policy stating that fees for canceled seasons are applied to a subsequent season. Two days after the season was canceled, my GF found two $25 charges to her card along with the season fees. She called her bank and they are investigating the charges. After she talked to the bank today, she found ANOTHER charge for the same amount. The league states that they are closed for the summer in the voicemail message, yet they are open enough (or someone stole her card info from them) to charge her card three separate times. We don't have two nickels to rub together and we are out, at this point, $155 dollars for a non-existent activity that was supposed to be $80. I know it's a terrible idea, but I am at the point where I want to go down to their office with a baseball bat and extract my money by any means necessary. My question for the forum is what course of action is the best at this point? What legal recourse do I have? Thanks for your time. |

Call the bank that issued the cards that were charged. Explain the situation. Request the charges be cancelled.
Plan on changing accounts (sometimes those folks are like ticks and don't let go without being smashed.) Write and send letters to the league demanding that they document the amount owed. Save all papers (bills from them, letters from you) that relate to the charges. |

Please don't get violent. Your bank should take care of the fraudulent charges. This. The bank will take care of you. Dispute the other charges while ur at it. this I would also dispute the other charges like the above poster stated how can they use these funds for next season - what if you do not wish to participate in next seasons Games will they apply those to the next season. That does not make sense good luck but keep a cool head |
