What kind of beast is this???
Followed him/her/it 
Could this be the legendary chupacabra or the TX penguin???

To be sure you should pick it up by the tail. Lets us know the outcome and then can give a positive id.  Are they more friendly when you pick them up that way??? 10-4 It's a mother thing, mama Possums always carry their young by the tail. It'l make cooing sounds and curl around you arm.
