It seems like the NBA is one big soap opera...Lebron and the heat.....Dwight Howard crying about the magic....someone always crying about something.....Is there more drama in the NBA than other sports or does it just seem that way?

Every professional sport is inhabited by overblown egos. However, the overblown egos in the NBA seem to have the market cornered on crybabies with big mouths.

It might seem that way when you realize just how few players there are in the NBA compared to the rest of the leagues.

I suppose your right but the big names collectively seem to bear more of a resemblance to a "sewing circle" than professional athletes....

I think the NBA is the most in your face sport. It has the fewest players, they wear no hat or mask and it is the most star-driven sport.
One good player (ex. Lebron, Durant, Duncan) can turn a team around for 10+ years.

The other thing.... Sports already suck when Football is over but  when the NBA /NHL seasons end,  sports go on almost life support.
Who the fuck likes baseball....? (Disclaimer: I live in Pgh fuck the Pirates and MLB)

I think the 24 hour news cycle is the biggest player, ESPN, Fox sports, NBC sports. yahoo sports, etc) what else is there to talk about? They still have 24/7 programing to fill.

I think we see a lot of people never "growing up" when their whole life from like age 8 or even younger has been centered around one thing. Sports, acting, singing, drugs, and others fall into this group. They don't get the typical kids life where they get to play, enjoy it, and learn through it.

Plus, Lebron is 26. I'm 26. If you threw all that ridiculous money and fame at me because I was one of the best in this HUGE thing, I can't say I'd be thinking any more clear or acting any better. I think he's grown up a TON this past season.

Edit:

I'm not even going to get into the criminal records and thuggery of some of these drama queens either

Baseball is boring as fuck, and the NFL is just now starting up camps.

Give it a couple months. Chad Johnson, the Jets, and Peyton Manning will give you all the drama you can stand.

Checking online, in the NBA there are no more than 450 players, and of that only 360 can be listed to play and compare that to almost 1700 NFL players.
