I keep hearing awesome things about this game. Everyone thinks it's pretty much awesome.

I borrowed it the other day from a co-worker.......

It's Fallout...with trees!  I'm not really getting what is so awesome about this game.  Someone who is more into gaming care to enlighten me?

LOL. Yeah, killing a town's livestock really pisses them off.

I bought it and played it for about 5 or 6 hours... and I haven't played it again since. It wasn't a bad game, I was hooked on it while I was playing, but once I turned it off I never really had any inclination to play it again.

It's pretty good.  If you want some fun, go off the trails and explore just prepare to be killed/eaten/destroyed a lot.  Save your game often.  It's got a pretty good story line and frankly, I just don't get the rating that it has for mature 17+.

The map is HUGE.  That map would rock on BF3 with like 1000 people per side huge.  I'd love to see something like that with a WW2 or modern battle theme going on.

The first expansion, Dawnguard, was released today for 360.

Not to mention, aren't also releasing DLCs that are EXPANDING the map? I thought I seen something about a new release for it that expanded Skyrim's world by half or more. Can't remember exactly though.

Yeah, I punched a chicken in the first town I got to. I tried to yield to him and he ran off. Yeah, he ran off and came back with a friggin WAR HAMMER. I got out of there ricky tick.

Technically Fallout 3 and after is like Elder Scrolls.

If you did not like fallout, you wont like Skyrim. If you enjoyed fallout you will absolutely love Skyrim. Skyrim has a whole lot of depth.

I still fire up fallout new vegas once in a while, but I havn't even thought of playing Skyrim again.

the fun (for me) in skyrim was just setting out in some direction and seeing what all happened to me.

just explored and enjoyed the world.

Just being able to walk around aimlessly and have all these insane things happen randomly. One time I came across 3 dragons battling each other, and giants and mammoths at the same time, pretty crazy.

I put over 100hrs into and still have a lot to do, I just stopped playing because I don't have time.

Fallout 3 could be said to be Oblivion without trees.

Yeah the Elder Scrolls and (Bethesda) Fallout series are pretty similar, but that doesn't make them bad games. They are awesome games. Skyrim is amazing.

Fallout, to me, seemed like wandering around in the dark without any clear purpose.  I don't know how many times I played that game and said to myself, "Okay, what the fuck am I supposed to do now?"  I found it confusing, irritating and pointless.  There was no clear . . . anything.

I played it for a few hours, got stuck in a pile of rubble, quit, came back to it a few months later, played for a few hours and thought "Meh," and then put it away again.  Yawn.

Hey JoeCoastie.......guess who?  I played Skyrim a lot, and seeing as though you and I both kow you absolutely LOVE Fallout, especially New Vegas, I would not recommend Skyrim.  Fallout is new age, where as Skyrim is almost WOWish, but it's not.  I would recommend you go and get you Ghost Recon: Future Soldier instead, I have heard good things

I wish I still had time to game.

I traded online gaming for getting laid about two years ago.

So far so good, no gaming withdrawals yet...
