After watching the first Prometheus movie I left with thoughts of "goddamnit I have more questions than answers!"
From my reading online it seems like the books exist, but that story lines aren't the same. Is this true? Are all three series tied together somehow? Or was Alien vs Predator just a bastard child to make money and confuse poor fools like me? I'm currently rewatching all of the alien movies and noticing things that make more sense after watching prometheus. Will I notice the same in the predator movies? They seemed much more detached from the Prometheus plot. |
| I read the first two Aliens books by Steven Perry. They were alright. Been many years since I read them. IIRC I found out a while back that they were supposed to be a literary sequel to Aliens but then they made Alien 3. The characters of Hicks and Newt got changed to Wilks and Billie. It makes sense because when I was reading them the backstory of the characters was nearly identical to that of Hicks and Newt (marine finds lone girl survival on infested colony planet). |

That sounds about like what I've seen just googling the books online. I know the prometheus books have the scientists as brother and sister, not a couple.
I want to know why the Engineers want the humans dead, and why the one disentagrated himself into a waterfall damnit! Unfortunately at the rate the Alien movies came out, it could take decades. |

I'm guessing it was some religious ritual for how they seed a planet with life using their own DNA as the template/building block. I'm guessing they are very advanced religious nut jobs. |
