It's true. It's also true that we were the ones who set this particular society in the first place.
It's no different than any other culture in that if we walk into an Amazon village, or a middle eastern community or a small town in Asia, WE'RE the people who don't naturally fit in. If we deny this and other facts like we DID (collectively as a society at least) hold another race subject to ours, we'll never get past the race issues. AT THE SAME TIME, we as society ARE trying to change that and we don't get the credit for at least making the change. We still have a long way to go, but we ARE making the attempt. That says more than some other societies. |
