Is there any reason not to use Internet Explorer?

It Is mainly personal preference now, but IE use to not be as secure. I recommed trying chrome and Firefox.  Chrome is nice in that you can search and enter web addresses in the same box. It also will display the last few pages you went to.

as long as you're using the latest bits, IE is fine. Personally, I use Chrome because they update faster.

I tried Chrome for a few weeks to a month last year. It seemed quick, but it lacked some pretty simple functionality that drove me back to Firefox. Anyway I missed my FF add-ons. There might be Chrome equivalents now, I don't know. Firefox works great for me.

All I know is that Google Chrome will deposit tons of stuff on my machine. I am one of thos crazy folks that runs four differnt system scrubbers before and after I surf.  Without exception, every time I use Google Chrome, Spybot finds all kinds of tracking doo-hickeys stored on my machine - but I don't get them with Internet Explorer.  I won't use Google Chrome now for this reason alone.

I've used Firefox for the past 4 years or so and haven't once missed Explorer.  I like the interface on FF.  As for FF being safer to run, I can't really say.  But I haven't had a single problem with it in that time...

I use Firefox for one feature, it's mouse gestures.  I can left click and drag a link downward and it will open in another tab in the background.  It's a nice feature for news articles....and pron.

I wound up switching to chrome

If I add a bookmark at home it shows up on my work computer
(running chrome) as well;  it is nice when you run multiple computers
