The spousal unit had one of her 'songs' playing when I came home from work one day last week, having never had the 'pleasure' of hearing one before myself.  Was promptly educated about her sales records, etc; I have not heard any her songs since.

Yeah fortunately both the Mrs. and I can't stand her "music"....and that's the kind of stuff that the Mrs. generally goes for so I was pretty happy when she changed the channel before I did.

It's taken a while to kill it completely in my Pandora rotations but I think I finally got there.

Now some Florence and the Machine I can get into, that girl has a VOICE.

That's true. She's an extremely talented singer, though the material is... unoriginal at best.

She's an overweight, fairly plain-looking girl who sings about bad love relationships, being cheated on, etc.

A lot of women identify with that and like her songs, hence her success.

It wouldn't be as bad if she had a great voice(like I hear everyone say). I'm sorry but a person's voice cracking doesn't add character or whatever to a song, it just sounds awful.

Pop musicians are all about image, if they don't have exceptional vocal talent then at least with autotune singers like Katy Perry you are presented with decent one.
