Thanks for the replies.
I got all sorts of stuff. Some machine shop stuff, 2 engines, Plotter. I really have no idea what the stuff is worth so I google modle #s and find out what is going for. Then work from there. I was bit worried that I hwould to pay for the ads |
| you might get better offers on the EE here, but for getting rid of junk Craigslist works well, especially curb it. My post is usually something like "First come, first served. if it's not on the curb when you get here, it's gone, don't knock or come to the house. I'll take the add down as soon as I notice it's gone." |

Your machine shop stuff is dogshit, but I'll do you a favor and give you $42.89, two used tires, and however much beef jerky is left in my bag when I come to pick it up sometime next week. edit: I want the blotter included for that price too. You drive a hard bargain .

I sell stuff on CL from time to time, and generally don't have too many problems with it. I only have one piece of advice, take it or leave it, but if you leave it you do so at your own peril.
Google Voice is your friend, get it, use it. Never, ever post your actual phone number on CL. |

I have quite a bit of stuff to unload so I contemplated getting a TracFone for a temporary phone # for people to call. |

Google Voice is free and what it does is give you a local number that they call, and then it forwards that number to whatever number you want it to go to, if any at all. When I have something to sell I point the number to my cell phone, when I am not selling anything I turn off the forwarding to my cell phone.
It also gives you the option of screening calls, when you answer it will tell you it is a Google voice call, and ask if you want to take it or not. It will also forward texts to that number. That way you can take phone calls for the items (a lot of people still don't do text or email), but they never know what your real number is, and once the items are sold you can turn of the Google Voice number. |
