I've done a lot of business with these guys. For a starter rifle, look at G&G, KWA or even the site's G4 series. Don't forget you'll need batteries, a charger, extra mags and goggles/face mask. I hope that helps. |

If your son (or you ) wants realism and you wouldn't mind going a little above your price range, I have been hearing great things about these and have ordered the 16" barrel version for myself.

You can find some good quality guns from companies like: Tokyo Mauri, Classic Army, KWA, and yes, Kings. Try here, take a look. Most are the same, and if he is a shooter with you, they even make metal bodied guns that he would like. The biggest thing is that the gun itselfs does matter, but not as much as the internals. We have drop in triggers and airsoft has new mechs and batteries and whatnot. Any more questions feel free to PM me because there is a lot of airsoft haters here I played airsofgt when I was younger and recently have done a lot of research to get back onto a team here in Ohio. Hope these help: |

I am assuming that you own AR-15. How good are you fixing your gun when something goes wrong with it? Can you replace barrel, Trigger group, etc?
There are 9 guns in our group that we play together. During last two years, every single one of them had to have something fixed (new barrel, new motor, new gear box, etc). And these are mid level AEGs ($2-300). so expect something to go wrong. Most of them are fixable. You wouldn't want to just throw away $200.00 toy. ETA: Invest in good batteries and a smart charger. |
