I have a new Droid Maxx and the camera only shows 2 settings. A 6 megapixel widescreen and a 8 megapixel setting. Both of these are overkill for what i need. I need to be able to take 8 to 10 pictures and email them to coworkers from my phone for them to view on a computer screen. Pics will never be printed.  Do i need a camera app or is there a way to reduce the resolurltion so it is not jamming up my email? Thank you in advance for your help.

You should have the option to send them full size or reduce when you actually email them.

I have an App called Photo Editor.
You can do several stuff with pics you took, and resizing is one of the options.

You can save edited pics to your phone or card and send them.

It's free and in the Play Store.

OK, thanks for the responses so far. I have figured out how to go in and edit the pics to a smaller size. Any ideas on getting the camera to just plain take smaller pics so i can skip this step? Is there a better camera app the ste stock one? Forgive me as i am new the Android platform, having recently defected to the darkside from Blackberry, which was kind of like living in the old E Germany. Things sucked but where predictable and as long as you did not know any better all seemed safer than the decadent Android/iPhone west.

When I go to attach the photo to an email, it gives me choices as to what size I want to send, does that feature not work on your model?

Droid Razr Maxx. Battery can't be popped out.

Yes I'm sure my sarcasm meter is off.

An android phone with a non-pop-outable battery?  That's like painting yourself into a corner.

What are you supposed to do with all the force closes and lockups?

I'm confused, I don't get force closes and lockups.  In fact, I haven't even so much as restarted the phone in MONTHS.

Neither have I (at least not since I flashed my most recent ROM a little over a month ago).

Samsung Galaxy S, Android Open Kang Project,  FTW!

ETA:  I also get to CHOOSE the software that goes on my phone.  I don't know why anyone would buy a computer that won't allow them administrator privileges.

So you're saying you "rooted" your phone, which is the same thing as "jailbreaking" an iphone (which gives the same capabilities for choosing software)?  Never had much need for that, my software works fine without needing to hack and tweak it.

First, they are not the same thing.  Jailbreaking an iPhone gives it roughly the same capabilities an Android phone has out of the box (the ability to side load apps, ssh to the device to transfer files without using special software, and a few basic UI tweaks).  There's only a few features that jailbreaking allows on an iPhone that isn't possible on a non-rooted Android phone.  A rooted (and especially ROM'ed) Android phone can do things that even a jailbroken iPhone can't.

Second, my phone's software worked just fine out of the box as well.  I chose to root it and replace the OS with a custom version of Android to allow even greater degrees of customization.  I used my phone for over a month when I got it (because it took a little while for the customized software to be ported to my phone) with zero stability problems.  Sure, I've had a couple apps force close on me (poorly written, crashy apps exist for iOS as well, but Apple doesn't tell you when apps crash so if it happens to a background app you'll never know) but the only time I've ever had to "pull the battery" (which isn't even the right way to do it, every Android phone that I am aware of has a hardware button combination that reboots the phone [mine is pwr + vol up for ten seconds]) was when I did something stupid digging around in the OS and borked it.

I have broken the software in my phone to the point it wouldn't even boot (don't worry, I knew even if I bricked it I could bring it back to life in a few minutes) but I have never had the phone just stop working unless I made it stop working by doing something that wouldn't have even been possible without rooting it.

Well, I guess i should have seen the " should have got an iphone" coming. Still trying to figure out how to take smaller pics.
