I was an inspector for two years at a $4.5Billion project, we never had a fatality. A few serious injuries but thanks to all of the precautions we took no lives were lost in the hundreds of thousands of hours that had so far been worked.

While OSHA may seem like a worthless entity to those who are immature or do not value their life, OSHA definitely has improved the quality and longevity of life of the blue collar worker in the USA.

Ah yes, osha. Diluting the bleach in the gene pool so the rest of us get to deal with bullshit. What's next substandard workers who can't do the job but can't be fired without drama?

I wouldn't say I hope you lose an appendage in a work accident and then lose your job for being short said appendage...  but I would kind of chortle if it happened.

If i haven't yet i doubt i do, skippy. If i don't feel safe i don't do it. I know it's hard to understand for someone who thinks a fine for extension cords is ok but some of us work and get shit done.

I'd say your best bet is on me getting tetanus for going barefoot around shavings. Wish ya luck and don't lock out or look for secondaries that aren't writen down.

I've been in construction over 30 years. I can't recall 1 time that I've seen or heard of OSHA shutting down a housing complex that was filled with illegal immigrant workers doing all kinds of dangerous shit. Yet my boss gets fined for a nick in an extension cord.

He should have replaced it after they warned him.

OSHA should not be part of the .gov.  It should be a non-profit working with the Insurance industry.

Problem solved.
