Happy Birthday to Hayek! If we'd follow his policies this nation wouldn't be half the mess it is now.

Yes.  Friedrich not Salma.

And yes, if everyone would read and understand The Road to Serfdom this would be a better county.

going from memory here...

The Constitution of Liberty was even more satisfying in some ways, a continuation of the themes from Serfdom.  Can't think of another of his well-known books.  All worth reading.

It is absolutely astounding the amount of garbage misinformation out there.  I recommended Hayek to a man with a poli-sci degree (he'd NEVER heard of Hayek or the Austrian School), who is running for a local political position.
He came back to me and said he found out that Hayek is a communist, and implied I was a communist infiltrator to the local RP.
We can't even get the facts straight, much less decide what we want to do with them.

"About fifteen years ago, during a dinner conversation with Nobel Laureate economist/philosopher Friedrich A. Hayek, I asked him if he was allowed to enact one law that would promote and preserve liberty in our country, what would that law be? Hayek answered that the law he'd enact would read: Congress shall enact no law that does not apply equally to all Americans."

Walter Williams

That would solve a lot of problems.
