A coworker of mine, in our infinite boredom, were discussing the possibility of a 3-foot-diameter fried bologna sandwich.

How thick would it need to be, to be a scaled up standard slice (Oscar Meyer thickness)?

How many pieces of American cheese would we need to cover the surface?

How much would it theoretically weigh?

Who would help us eat it?

Assuming your standard is 4" square bread slices with 2 slices of bologna and 2 slices of cheese you would need 9x9x9 = 729 times as much of everything to scale up the length width and height.

ETA: at 17 slices to a 1lb loaf you would need 86 loaves of bread, 24 cheese slices to a pound = 61 pounds of American cheese slices, 10 bologna slices to a pound = 146 pounds of bologna.

Total weight = 283 pounds.

Calories = 348,100

10,643 grams of saturated fat (53,217% of recommended daily average)

1,018 grams of salt (42,282% of recommended daily average)

Do you know the dimensions of a regular slice of bologna?

I have calipers at my desk, but not bologna or american cheese.

ETA...  I would help eat it as long as there is Plochman's Yellow Mustard and thinly sliced onions included.

So, you would need about 10 basement dwelling arfcomers or 500 unhealthy Americans, or about 1500 healthy Americans to eat it.

I don't think you need a mathematician, just a knowledgable fatty.
