The Arf GD is full of negative, bad news, doom and gloom type posts as always. How about a thread with a positive beat and good news? I hear it's good for the brain to write or think of three positive things a day.
I'll start of with a little bit of my own. I had a dentist appointment this morning with no cavities which is always good, plus, who doesn't like a free toothbrush, except maybe this guy ––––––}
I signed up for an energy audit with our local utility and they left a free box of CFL's along with other energy saving swag and LED nightlights for the kids. My daughters are competing in the Miss WV Majorette competition tomorrow morning and there is a large gun shop just down the street from the venue I'll get a chance to checkout. I got this new tent in the mail this week at half the normal cost Shangri-La-5-Tent Oh and it's FRIDAY That's five things from me, now it's your turn. Have a great day everybody! |

Well if this is a good news/good vibes thread:
God bless our troops and everyone who serves. You are loved, and very much respected. Stay safe! Personal level: renewing my LTCF after work today, going to a native plants festival tomorrow to get a couple more native plants for our property. Midway order came yesterday and will give me something fun to do this weekend! |

I realized last night I have enough spare parts on my workbench to put together a completely self-made autoloader pistol. So I am. And the ATF page says that's totally OK since I'm not disabled from owning guns and I'll never sell it.
Oh, and Mitt Romney....... has really great hair. |
50cal:
Words from an old grouch (me): Last weekend, my wife and I traveled to Fort Worth with my friend from HS and his wife. We stayed with his cousin (retired Chief Master Sgt), met up with 2 other friends and their wives. That trip reaffirmed my faith that there are in fact people in this world who are honest, supportive, considerate, intelligent and kind to their very core –– every single one of them. Having so many such people around me was inspiring and uplifting in ways I can't put into words. And it looks like I'll probably survive this year's layoffs too. |

What you did, there, I see it. |

I didn't see it until you said you saw it |
| Lou Brock had dinner at the restaurant I work at and it just so happened I had some new in the wrapper baseballs in the console of my truck. He was very nice and he autographed one of the balls for me, and it's now sitting on my fireplace along with his 1962 rookie card. I'm stoked about it. |

Going to be a G'pa for the 2nd time in Sept. My son and his wife tried for almost ten years to have kids then WHAM! The first boy will be 2 years old just five days after the due date of #2. I've got lots of guns and fishing stuff to get ready. I think they need to have their water tested around January. |
