A meteorite punches through your roof & lands in the gun safe, triggering a fire in the safe. By the time NASA lets you back into your safe, your treasured firearms are charred wood & plastic and a puddle of steel on the bottom.
Since you and the significant other(s) and the children were on vacation in anti-gun London, ALL of your firearms were in the safe - your daily carry, the truck guns, the Mosins in the beautiful man-cave shipping crate lit coffee table. After you get the nice check from the insurance adjustor, what do you do differently this time, & why? Gig 'em, backbencher |

I wouldnt do anything different other than probably have to go to my CLEO and explain why I am dropping off 30+ NFA Form 1 and Form 4s at one time to replace all my melted guns with identical models they have signed off on for over the past dozen+ years.
Short of that there may be a handful of 90's "ban era" guns that I still haven't de-neutered and obviously wouldn't replace with "ban era" style guns. Why would I buy a FAL with a pinned on compensator in 2012 or an AR upper with no bayo lug... much less who sells stuff in that config anymore. |

I hate to say this- Glock 9mm for everyone in house. If an agreement cannot be made on that, then a COMMON service pistol. 1911, Smith auto, whatever.
Colt 6920 for everyone in household- or similar quality. (Settled on Noveske for us actually) .22 rimfire ARx2 Rimfire pistols (Ruger MK III or Buckmark) Remington 870 shotguns x2 .22 conversion for service pistols if glock or 1911 Model 70 in .308 x3 or 4 as well. Mags, ammo, spare parts. There ya go. Now, in reality it plays out a lot different in my household. |

The truck gun - Rem 870 20 ga PG gets replaced w/ the same. Eventually a 12 or 20 ga Saiga bullpup, but that takes a while to get built.
EDC - the Glock 23, 20 yrs old, is replaced w/ a KelTec PF-9 - @ least until I start practicing w/ 147gn ammo : ) Deer rifle - the Mosin would be replaced by a Savage 110. April Fool's Joke - the IBM can only be replaced by another IBM. This time though, I'm buying a complete one, not just a receiver. AR pistol - Do I really need an AR? I doubt I'll ever carry one again. Replaced by Beretta 92. HD gun - Saiga 20 or 12 ga, later make it bullpup. Duck gun - Rem 870 gone, Benelli or Browning Gold 10ga Antiques - the Win '97 will take a long time to replace; so will the Mosin. A Lowe Mauser's a bit easier, so perhaps another one. The Ruger 22/45 - this or a Smith 41. The .22" revolvers - don't really need them. The .22" WMR could be replaced w/ the KelTec. The Ruger 10/22 - another, or a .17" HMR bolt. Maybe an antique Win 1890 : ) That's all I can think of for now. |

Can't end yet - I haven't posted to it. Biggest changes... no more low shelf mixmasters. No tube guns. Put the shotgun money towards other things. Replace RR with a DIAS Replace suppressors with newer, better models of same 6921 or commando variant add a 6.8 or two Try examples of Noveske, LaRue, etc. Add a 77/22, and an integral 77/44 Have to look into what the 700p gets replaced with. Semi-auto .308s - probably collapse the mish-mash down to a few interesting, modern options. Handguns would probably be a mix of M&Ps and high-shelf 1911s, and maybe a 642 or two. |

A meteorite of sufficient mass and velocity necessary to pass through two stories of my house then pulverize nearly a ton of steel on impact would be worth, depending on its composition, in excess of $80k. More if you have a craftsman cut it into cross sections. I'd replace the guns and pay off my student loans |

Cry over the loss of my ponies.
After I sell the rock to NASA for profit: Move back to Oregon Buy a Bersa Thunder UC9 to replace my PX4 Buy an SP101 to replace my Agent Buy a GP100 to replace Trooper Buy a Colt Gold Cup 1911 Buy an M44 and an AK to replace my Marlin Buy a Remington 870 to replace my Mossberg 500 and Savage RXL Buy an SR9C to replace my daily carry |

Allot of my stuff are things I bought that caught my eye.. Only a few thing I specifically ordered which were my CZ P01 and 527 carbine, and my Rem 700P 308 &338LM Aside from replacing those, I would probably have a bigger M1 Carbine collection, then go back to visiting the shop every couple weeks and buying whatever caught my eye. The black powder guns I build would probably cause me to cry, but I would build new ones. The pool of melted steel would be forged into a new chunk gun barrel. |

Imbroglio, is that you! |
| First off, quite a few are not replaceable. It's the memories attached to the gun, not the gun itself. My dad's Colt Woodsman for example. Second, I would not even try. Just get a few guns for specific purposes, my collecting days are behind me. The money can be put to better use. |
