Found this guy in the garden this morning.  Can someone tell me what he is?  And no - I'm not going to bash him.  He looks like a good mouser.














Looks like he had a mouse dinner last night.

Eastern Ribbon Snake. I've always just called them garter snakes.

That's the GREAT type of snake. They only eat shit nobody wants around, and they won't poison you or your animals, though any snake bite can be nasty if not cleaned properly. In my experience, very unconfrontational.

garter snake who is apparently at a buffet.
when they eat double their weight sure seems like they would slow down
a "empty" garter snake is pretty quick moving for taking pics
