I want to give a heads up for people in the following areas... Saturday severe weather potential Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas. Look at the map I posted and if you live in the areas outlined be aware. There is a "High Risk" of storms and this is a day 2 prediction which is very rare. Additionally that 60% hatch rate is insane. I just dont remember seeing a day 2 high risk, with a 60% hatch rate ever... Its as simple as this, and I hate to say it but, people will and are going to die from this weather system. There will be multiple deaths and lots of property damage. Prepare yourself and keep tuned into the weather Saturday so you and your loved ones do not fall victim. I will be in the field chasing storms, so you will have to depend on some of the others here that are more than capable of nowcasting for ARFCOM members. I cant say enough, this is a serious threat. Dont take it lightly. ST  |

Thanks for the heads up. I'll be watching this one via GRLevel3 here in SW MO, although the way the storms have run so far this year I'll probably be on the outskirts of it again. ETA: I really need to learn how to read weather models. I usually don't know what's going on with the weather until it arrives.  ETA2: Is there any significance behind the storms traveling north/northeast this season? A few of the locals act as if that's some sort of weird occurrence. All I know is that in my 8 years of living here the storms usually follow I-44 in an east/northeast direction and this year they are not. |

But I'm not igmo to bad weather, in fact I moved out of Oklahoma because a tornado flattened half on my neighborhood when I was a kid.
