So...  newspaper article the other day said there are new restrictions on power plant emissions that go into effect in 2016?

Power plants either have to install new expensive equipment to remove pollutants, or shut down.

Several are already closing.

Coal is by far the cheapest form of electrical energy.

If all operating coal power plants spend a ton of money to meet new EPA laws, what will happen to electric prices?

Won't that make the cost of EVERYTHING go up?

we just spent 600 million to meet EPA standards.  Of course they are fighting it out in court, but we are expecting the full load of regulations to hit the first of 2013.  My Dad Just gave me a list of Major coal plants That he was given in an AEP company/union meeting that will be closed up and down the Ohio River.  Lets just say I'm expecting Black Outs to be the Norm. I'm an Instrument and control tech, specifically working in CEMS.  in other words I know everything that has to do with emissions, and the bullshit that the EPA pulls.

The EPA is flat out trying to kill ANY chance of this country coming back.
