The Obama campaign is not employing the widely used credit card address verification system to check whether the address submitted by a donor matches the address tied to the credit card, an omission that might allow supporters to use a fake identity when contributing.
The practice could potentially allow donors in possession of illicitly obtained credit card numbers to exceed the campaign limit, and to permit overseas supporters to contribute. John Hinderaker over at Power Line blog tested the Obama system, donating under the name “Illegal Contributor” and listing his address as “Cell Block 13″ in the State Penitentiary.” He said his employer was the “Minnesota Penal System” and listed his occupation as “inmate.”
Not only was his $3 donation – made with his real credit card number – welcomed, but he was asked to set up his own grassroots fundraising page so he could induce others – why not the entire cell block 13? – to contribute as well. http://www.whitehousedossier.com/2012/04/04/obama-campaign-credit-card-verification/ |

Too bad 40something% of the rest of the US doesn't. |

Kinda goes with a theory Ive heard on how Barry got most of his money the first time around.
Begin theory: Big money guys like Soros were able to funnel money through 3-4 levels of organizations in order to make it look like it came from a lot of small donors and hence look legal. |

The only part of the biling address that s checked when a card is charged is the zip code. It will still go through without a zip code if the merchant sets it tu to still process, but the fee goes up because the biling address zip code is wrong Thats true for standard avs when keying a number, but i believe web portals match on a few more criteria. I was in managemeny at a processing company awhile back, but i never really dug into the web stuff that deep. ETA: full cardholder name IS transmitted, its just encrypted on the front end unless youre way out of PCI compliance. Wouldn't be that hard to verify, and a campaign should have to. |

This is more or less how the Clintons did it as well. Bagmen for the Red Chinese government were bringing in satchels with hundreds of thousands of dollars in them, then "bundlers" would make it look as if every last waiter/kung-fu fighter in Chinatown donated two hundred dollars. Hillary tried this as well, but the media turned on her and exposed the Chinese mailman and his extended family who "contributed" two hundred thousand dollars because "they really liked the Clintons". It's a form of reverse bundling. |

say it ain't so...here's my shocked face. that was exactly how soros gave him a few hundred million last time. word A bunch of donations were traced to the middle east last time, but I guess it wasn't that big of a deal. This is why I fear for the republic. |

That could bite them in the butt. When you setup to take credit cards it is the merchant's responsibility for any fraudulent transactions. If a customer calls their credit card company and disputes a charge the merchant loses the money AS WELL AS $25 - $50 depending on the card.
This could be used for mischief -Foxxz |
