Last few times I have gotten fuel I haven't been able to fill it full.  The first two times fuel attendants filled it and I thought they were just dopes or something.  This morning I was at a self serve (rare in Oregon) and it would automatically shut off after only a small amount of fuel.  I finally gave up after 7 gallons.

It was me.  I took several sponges....wet them....squeezed them tight...wrapped them in twine and let them dry.  Then when they were small I shoved them down your fill tank to cause just this sort of issue.

Edit:  YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID

Not your car, most likely the nozzle at the station.

Might see if you can find the locations of the items listed that may be the problem.

1. Sticking fuel tank vent valve
2. Restricted evaporative hoses
3. Fuel in canister or canister otherwise restricted
4. Canister close valve stuck closed
5. Canister filter obstructed

I had a coworker with the same problem in his company vehicle, it would take 15 minutes to pump ten gallons. If you think it suck in your car try it with an E250 that only gets 9MPG, he was having to get gas every day, and twice on busy days. It turned out to be a blocked filler vent.

I sent your car an email and told it to straighten up and take gas like it is suppose too. Let me know if it acts up again.

This.

I off road (lots) and the fill vent for my truck is in the rear quarter panel about 24 inches above ground ... I swim through water/mud deeper than that and it's buggered bad enough about once a year to cause this problem.

This.  I really doubt that it's your car.  Next time YOU fill the tank, try to play with the angle that the fuel nozle  is sitting in the filler tube. Sometimes the pressure is higher "at a curve" or point in the filler tube causing the automatic shutoff.

Could also be the flapper valve is not moving correctly.  This device is usually right above the tank neck and it prevents fuel from sloshing into the vapor recovery system when driving.

Usually requires removing the tank.  I've done it once.  The hinge on this flapper was rough, I polished it with a small round file.  If you are handy, it is no big deal.  But a dirty job.

Try THIS first.
We have a lot of fleet vehicles and some, esp. some Chevy trucks, I have to jamb the nozzle in and lift the handle straight up to fill w/out shutting off prematurely.
Others, need to aim left or right  (take a peek which way the filler hose goes)

Thanks, I'm not horribly handy but I can manage the above.  Its getting good gas mileage and is running well.  Thanks for the email to my car.  I'm sure that will straighten it out!
