What we do to deter theft in the inner city might have other uses too..

If I need that much security to stay safe in my house, I've already left.

Not if the zombies have already overrun all the possible bug out locations.

Was going to say anus, but seeing the OP I'm going to say cordless sawzall.

So to unlock the door all I need to do is keep hitting the big handle in the middle of the door with a sledge hammer until it is all the way down?

Not much curb appeal.

It would be pretty easy to just go through the wall. Plywood and 4" studs on 16" centers..? 1 minutes easy.

A fire ax will probably get you shot in MO.  If you're wacking at my house for a minute with an ax, I'm planning your cranial explosion.

Vinyl siding, Tyvek house wrap, OSB, pine 2x4's and some sheetrock.  Yup, sawzall cuts me a new doorway.

The point is, a static defense will fall, eventually. A static defense in a wood frame structure is laughable.

Can you fit a crowbar or a tow strap from a truck under the bottom lip of the window-thingy in the last pic?

In a couple years the chimney will make a nice hole in the roof.

Does that stuff come with tthe house?  If it needs it when nobody lives there id imagine occupants would be better off leaving it on.  I'm pretty sure 99.9999% of criminals would pick a different house then try to break through that...although it might be a bullet magnet.  No winning there

The system is called VPS,   Vacant Property Solutions

It is designed to deter theft and vandalism while property is vacant and remodeling is underway... copper theft is out of control here and in many other areas of the country... vacant houses attract thieves...

Before tenants move in the system is removed..

nope take too long and make too much noise.

Cordless screwdriver, unscrew the window covering thingy, slide panel up pull out bottom and slide down out of the way. The house window is easy to deal with.

I'm sure the system really helps sell potential renters and buyers on the neighborhood.  If I was looking for a place to live, and it looked like that I'd keep looking.

you have to enter a color coded series of push buttons, then it engages the lock electronically...
I'm not selling it BTW, we just tried it on a couple of houses...you rent the system monthly..

I am just the contractor who does the repairs.

I'm sure the exterior walls of the house are nothing but 2x4's, foam, and siding.  Anyone that actually wanted in that house could be in within 2 minutes.  Rip down some siding and kick a hole in the foam.  Pull insulation out of the way and you're in.

the feedback from potential renters has been better than i thought, and it looks far better than boarding up the windows...

It ain't just happening in the ghetto.
2 out of the last 3 houses that I have worked on have been hit. Copper wire, tools, appliances stolen. We have been asked to install hidden cameras on partially finished homes a couple times now.
These are $10,000,000+ houses in one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in the nation.

And tweekers have figured out the concept of a cordless sawzall to make their own door.
