They generally were white or pink. What made them so good for leis was that a plucked blossom had a hole right through the center ready for stringing. They had five petals and grew low enough for a kid to reach. Also they had a pleasant aroma, sort of like vanilla. I'm just not sure if they were actually plumeria or if that was just the name that stuck. |
