The mayan calender is based directly off the stars in relationship to the Earth, the date dec 21st 2012 is what our days convert to on the maya calender. You do know this I'm assuming.

The Mayan calendar is far more accurate then the Georgian calendar.  Until the 1950’s it was the most accurate calendar. The other thing most people fail to understand is the Mayan’s did not believe in liner time their calendar is based on cyclical time.

The Mayan Calendar never ever ends.
