In this thread, I hope to get some credible sources that shoot down man-made global warming. While I don't believe that human beings are causing the planet to become warmer by any measurable degree, I don't have any science to back up my beliefs.

I think the biggest convincer for me was the Al Gore chart. Now this is different from the hockey stick chart from years ago. The hockey stick chart had bad info imput into it. Al Gore's has "good" info, bad interpretation and presentation.
If you notice, there's a correlation between carbon and temp. Your natural reaction is that carbon causes temp changes. However on that chart some of the temp changes actually come before the carbon change. Also some of the temp changes take up to 800 years to happen after the jump in carbon. The reason you can't see that? That chart spans about 500,000 years. Hard to see an 800 year gap in a 500,000 year range.

 Yes, carbon DIOXIDE (only charlatans of the AGW left use "carbon" in place of "carbon dioxide") absorbs infrared radiation. But water vapor, also a gas, absorbs far more:  Perfectly transparent materials have 100% transmittance numbers. Wavenumbers are reciprocal frequency. Water vapor concentration in the Troposphere. the part of the atmosphere where most the thermometers are located, is found in concentrations 20 times that of carbon dioxide or more. Water vapor controls the climate, not carbon dioxide. |
