[ARCHIVED THREAD] - I trapped a cat (Page 1 of 2)

| I trapped the cat that keeps spraying my Jeep. Now what do I do with it? I live in the city and have two options: I can take it to animal control where it will likely be put to sleep or I can drive way out somewhere and let him go. Keep the pellet gun, .22 suppressor and comments that advocate cruelty out of it. |

As someone who used to live about 50 miles from a source of pesky city cats, I say don't make it someone else's problem. Deal with it however you want, but don't go dump it in the country expecting that its life will be all rainbows and roses from there on out.

| Kind of shocked with the bleeding hearts on this site. What is more cruel to the cat, putting it down with a .22 or even taken to the pound where it would have a shot at getting adopted vs releasing the cat in the wild to starve and eventually be torn to shreds by a coyote. Grow a pair op. |

Put it by your jeep and spray it with water. It will get the message sooner or later I've been told this works. Put the trap next to the jeep, put the hose on the trap, and open it up. Go have a beer. Later, release the cat. It won't come back. I also suggest you paint it orange, just to annoy the owner. |

Do the thing a favor and humanely end its life. |

Sign: "Found cat" with picture and phone number/email address. 1 week. Feed it well for that week.
No call/email: Peaceful, considerate demise. You could try and dump it off at a shelter and make it their problem, but there are plenty of cats ahead of it, and only the young ones are likely to get adopted. You could make sure it is spayed or neutered and then release it somewhere, but again, it will begin someone else's problem. Do NOT, whatever you do, release it without making sure it is spayed or neutered or going to an owner. Just my opinion. |
|
Quoted: Country release unless it belongs to someone local. If there is an owner, take it up with them. That's a crap idea. Too many dumb city jerks do this. What, you think you are providing it with a happy life? No, you are just causing it to show up at my house and do the same thing it did at yours. Then I have to shoot it, which you should have done to begin with. |

Crush it's skull with a hammer. There. Now you have three options. |
