| Do you put too much info on facebook? |
|
Never visited the site...never had any interest in connecting with people from my past or in networking for potential new friends. I maintain the relationships I want to, I form the new ones I want to. Call me old fashioned...I don't need the Internet for those actions.
I have nothing against people who use Facebook, I just view it as a waste of time. Much like posting here
|
| I use Facebook to keep in touch with friends and social things. I do NOT EVER post pics of guns, me shooting, or anything like that. I just keep it plaine. I know lots of peole posting pics of their guns, them shooting then posting "vacations / work out of town" times too. WTF! That I do not get at all. |

Facebook is yet another vector for drama. I do my best to reduce vectors for drama in my life.
Even a seemingly innocent wall post to a long lost relative can trigger the stupid drama gene in someone and cause me some amount of ass pain. No thanks... Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Facebook has become a part of a standard case work-up around here.
We start by checking the usual, arrest history, both civil and criminal court files, utility service records (to confirm residency), and of course Facebook. My favorites are the ones that photo or even video themselves committing crimes and the typing out a full page of confession, and then all the other people who sign in to list themselves as witnesses. The looks on their faces in the courtroom are priceless.

Clearly a fad. Nobody wants to communicate with anyone. I bet they never even get a million users, and even if they do it will all be teenagers. Oh and it will never make money. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile what does that have to do with "Do you put too much info on facebook?"
If you like to use it rock on but why the butthurt? It should come as no shock that many older men are not going to get their panties all wet about an online diary. |

My wife is an executive that works with many firms like Accenture, it plays no significant role in that arena. Advertising sure but advertising has always been about connecting/selling to the common. |

I don't have an account, and at my age it has no appeal at all.
My wife created an account to keep up with one person. I told to her to keep "friends" to a bare minimum, and not to post anything she didn't want the Sheriff or the local crack heads to read. I explained my concerns regarding PERSEC. I pointed out that if she starts friending relatives she will be dragged into all of the drama her family in Texas experiences on a daily basis. She wanted none of that! But guess what? They all want to friend her, and now they are getting pissed because she won't be their friend and comment on all the bullshit going on in their lives. It just reinforced my lack of enthusiasm to create an account of my own. |

Not sure where you're seeing the massive butthurt..... It's a communication tool.
No more, no less. You decide what you want to communicate. You decide who you want to communicate with. It's really that simple. |
| Facebook account is registered under a fake name. The email address it's tied to uses another fake name. A few days before I started my job, my coworkers went looking at my social media footprint. They found my MySpace page from when I was 17. They concluded I do not have a Facebook page. I have not tried to convince them otherwise. |

and by the way.....I can directly advertise to 16,140 US Accenture employees via Facebook If I sprinkle in Canada, UK, France, Germany I can reach more than 25,000 Like I said, so your in advertising right, I can see why you would support FB if you are, everyone talks their book nothing wrong with that. |

I'm not specifically in advertising, I'm in business. But I also use FB to communicate with my "far-flung" group of family and friends in a convenient way. |

It's really that simple. After years of these threads, it is clear some people just can't grasp things so simple. The irony is they all post here on arfcom. I wonder if they think that means they "have" to post dinner pics, wife pics, or bullshit news stories? |

I use it daily but have pretty strict standards as to what I will post and especially post about myself. My basic rule is,if it's not something a reasonable person would talk about with strangers or children in a room,it's not for FB. +1 I use it to keep in touch with my grown kids. I always keep it light and upbeat. |

Quoted: I find the whole " I don't need to communicate " thing funny, posting in GD. Facebook is only how you use it and allows far more privacy than here. Yep. Facebook, Twitter, Text messaging, phone calls... etc, just another tool for communicating. Just because some people have no one to communicate with or rather do it anonymously or just rather not do it, don't blame the tool. |

I use it to keep in touch with other members of the military. On a regular basis I am reaming someone for posting sensitve info. "We will be a Ft XXXXX for the next four days training. We're in a convoy now driving down Hwy XX. I hope my apartment is ok while I'm gone."
Mostly young females doing this I might add. |
what does that have to do with "Do you put too much info on facebook?"
