anybody else ever find themselves missing those small town western autos.
My first rifle came from a western auto when i was thirteen a winchester 30/30. |

I remember ours. It's was about a half mile or so from the house. One particular saturday afternoon as I was busy playing nintendo I heard
"Son, I dropped the u-joint when I was putting it in and the little pins flew all over. Walk up there and buy me a new one" Go and get back "Ok, but the grease zerk isn't in this one. Go back up there and exchange it" Go and get back "Aww dammit I just snapped this wrench. Go tell them it's a craftsman and you want it exchanged" Go get the new wrench and come home "Not now son, I'm playing duck hunt!"

We still have 2: http://www.westerntireandauto.com/ The owner in Centreville has his FFL.
I know, not the same. |
| I still see some Western Auto stores in operation............I guess they are independent, but back in the day Western Auto, Otasco and a few places like Kessler's had all kinds of cool stuff I wanted badly..........never got the go-karts either, but it was fun to look at them |
