I loved this movie as a kid.  I know, I know, its a cheesy barbarian movie.  But it holds a place in my heart and brings back memories.  Lots of creepy parts.

Also liked, in the same sort of genre, Krull, and Legend.   Great flicks.

Man I feel old.  Miss the 80's.

I loved that movie too.

One of the best movies ever! Strangely my wife doesn't agree.

Tanya Roberts....and that's really all you need to know about this movie.

I was in love with the girl.

Krull is probably the best movie ever made.

What's not to like about two hours of a young Tanya Roberts (with red hair!!!) running around with few clothes on???
2/10/2012 8:11:52 AM EDT
[#9]
That is a fact. I tried to post a coc complaint pic, but all I could find were topless ones. Oh well.

Ghey

This thread makes me want to watch Dune, Krull, Beastmaster, and Legend all in one sitting.  The Beastmaster's ferrit names were gay, but that's the only thing gay about those movies....well, the male loin cloths are kinda gay too, but other than that.

I was a fan as well, partially because of the ferrets, we owned two in the mid-80's.

I dunno what it is about that movie but it was my favorite growing up - and I always thought it would be cool as hell to have a ferret.

I watched it the not to long ago, and couldnt figure out why I had fell in love with it- and watched it over and over. I barely could sit through it

No love for Willow?

Krull!  I can't believe anyone else remembers it.  I remember both Beastmaster movies well.  I'm not even 30 yet and I miss the 80s.  They all seem cheesy now but I still love them.

I just realized she was in That 70's Show. I'm a little slow

The cloaked guys that dissolved and ate people gave me nightmares.

I'll go ahead and add The Dark Crystal

I dug it, havent seen krull and legend well.... I might rather watch the dark crystal lol

Wasnt there witch titties in the Beast Master? And the worm they put in the ear, the eye in the ring ...
Ill have to look upthe images on that actress ....

Anyone else remember THey Live?
2/10/2012 8:55:52 AM EDT

Yes,  there is a distinct possibility that Dragonslayer is one of the awesomest 80's fantasy movies made.

All these films look better when you're wearing KangaROOs.

It's a fact.

I have seen and fondly remember all of the aforementioned.

Does anyone remember The Barbarian Brothers? What was the movie featuring the three-bladed sword that could launch the two outer blades?

The Dark Crystal scared the shit out me when I was a kid.   Great fucking movie though! Shows what people didn't have to use CGI to make shit.

What about the first Conan. I think the lack of dialogue on Arnolds part made the movie.

I've always loved DragonSlayer.  Sadly, the gal in it died a few years ago of cancer, I think.

I miss spandex more.. I was in high school for the end of the 80's...

The Sword and the Sorcerer. Starring Lee Horsley, the guy from Matt Houston.

Yeah, I grew up during the 80's too.

Used to watch them every time they came one. Red Sonja. Conan. All of them.

Yep!

And the swords that were all seemingly made of sugar glass, because they all break if you even look at them wrong.

I watched all those movies religiously when ever they came on stations like TNT etc.

Probably one of the reasons I am so warped as an adult.

I don't see a lot of fantasy barbarian stuff nowadays, other than movies like Skorpion King and the remake of Conan which I enjoyed. Watching Ron Pearlman get covered in molten steel was cool.
