Do the different colors of the POW/MIA bracelets have any significance? Is black only for serviceman that were KIA? Silver for those that are POW/MIA? Or are the different colors just for personal preference? |

I want to get a POW bracelet for Lt. Cmdr Michael Scott Speicher (USN) who was shot down during the gulf war and is believed by many to still be alive and held captive by Iraq. Click here for more info on the circumstances surrounding Lt. Cmdr Speicher. I prefer the appearance of black but do not want to break tradition or offend anyone by getting the bracelet made incorrectly. |

I'm not sure, but I think I remember that the Vietnam bracelets came out first and were silver. Then they came out with some Korean War braclets that were black, and WWII that were red. I'm probably wrong, but I think I remember it being something like that. Also that was over 10 years ago, things could have changed. |
