This is one post I hoped i never would have to make.
My dad went in to the Dr. this morning because he felt like he had the flu, which has been going around like crazy here. Well they instantly admit him in to the ER due to his lungs being filled with a dry fluid. The diagnosis is Congestive Heart Failure. I feel helpless, dont know whats coming next. Just feel lost, my dad is my best friend. Please keep him in your thoughts or prayers or whatever it is you may do. Thanks Update 1- He had a heart attack and went in to cardiac arrest. He died in his room. The Dr.s were able to bring hime back after a ton of CPR etc. He is now in ICU on Life support. Im leaving right now fom my new job location to go be with him. Im in a complete haze. So i guess what im asking is please dont stop praying , He and I need them now more than ever. I will try to post here as i can, this seems to be a good way for me to vent with out breaking down. Thank you. |
| I was admitted to the hospital 2yrs, back with congestive heart failure along with atrial fibrillation. The emergency room Dr. told me if I'd waited one more day to come in I wouldn't have needed a Dr. Now I'm doing fairly well. Two cardiologist working together have my heart beat under control and my heart is pumping around 60% efficiency compared to 38% 2yrs. back. Get your Dad the best cardiologist you can find and make sure he follows Drs. orders and he he should be able to live many more years. |

Thanks For what it's worth, and I'm not a doctor, congestive heart failure is not necessarily a death sentence. I know people who have lived with it for MANY years. Manageable with medication. Best of luck. |

Just had the chance to get back on. wow i really appreciate the kind words and promising information.
He is still in serious condition and to top it off im starting my new job tomarrow 200 miles away. He was more concerned that I made it to the new job than anything else. Im just praying he pulls through this. |
| Will be praying. My dad was in really bad shape for about 4 months in 2010. He went into the hospital for a week the first time because he was having trouble breathing, is oxygen level was in the high 60's. He came back home but was like a zombie until just before Thanksgiving when he started getting better. Then two days before thanksgiving he regressed completely and started complaining of his foot hurting. Damn thing was completely black. He spent the next 3 months in the hospital fighting for his life. About a week of that was hooked up to machines. He's doing a lot better now, sans half a foot. Oxygen level was normal when he got out of the hospital too. Miracles can happen! |
