Shut the hell up . . .
That is all. |

I don't understand why the most conservative guy on the stage can't get any traction with voters. He's not crazy like Paul, he's not a bland Rino like Romney, and he's not a live grenade with a rubber band holding the spoon like Newt. He's always been a conservative and is scandel and dirt free. He's against amnesty for illegals. Why is he not the natural choice for conservatives, Republicans, and evangelicals?

If he's still on the ballot come the CA primary, I'll be voting for him. |

Nah, not trolling. Just sitting here watching the debate and it dawned on me that the guy just yammers on and on and on . . . For his own good, he should make his point and then shut the fuck up. He's running for president and has to fight for every second of air time. I thought it was a refreshing alternative listening to Newt and Mittens argue over who's the biggest RINO. ETA....Of the guys left, he'll get my vote if it even matters by the time it gets here. |

Not only opposed it, he FILIBUSTERED it!! In bed with labor unions. 1. Backed Arlen Specter (R?) (D?) over conservative Pat Toomey in 2004. 2. Santorum tells voters today that Medicare is “crushing” the “entire health care system.” In 2003, Santorum voted for the Medicare drug entitlement (Part D) that costs taxpayers more than $60 billion a year and almost $16 trillion in unfunded liabilities. 3. Santorum voted for the 2005 “bridge to nowhere” bill. 4. He supported No Child Left Behind and voted for the expansion of the federal control of school systems. 5. In 2008, He endorsed Romney in the presidential primaries calling Romney the "clear conservative candidate" who will "stand up for the conservative principles we hold dear." 6. He supports a federal abortion ban with no exception for rape or incest. 7. a. Rick Santorum wrote a book, It Takes a Family: Conservatism and the Common Good, which advocated greater government involvement in our lives. b. Among the many government programs he supported: national service, publicly financed trust funds for children, community-investment incentives, and economic-literacy programs in “every school in America”. c. "Freedom is not self-sufficient" 8. He has long opposed free trade. He backed higher tariffs on everything from steel to honey. He still supports an industrial policy with the government tilting the playing field toward manufacturing industries and picking winners and losers. 9. His definition of true liberty: " True liberty is freedom in the service of virtue—not "the freedom to be as selfish as I want to be," or "the freedom to be left alone," but "the freedom to attend to one's duties—duties to God, to family, and to neighbors." 10. Thinks the government has a right to ban contraceptives and other birth control. 11. Rejects what he calls "personal autonomy". 12. A list of the government interventions that Santorum endorses includes national service, promotion of prison ministries, "individual development accounts," publicly financed trust funds for children, community-investment incentives, strengthened obscenity enforcement, covenant marriage, and selective tax breaks. 13. He rejects a constitutional right to privacy, which he regards as a "constitutional wrecking ball" that has become inimical to the very principle of the common good. |
