I know I'm about 5 years late. I've had this game for awhile but I have been pretty preoccupied with MW3 online. Is this game alot of fun? |
|
I enjoyed it.
Still need to finish it up. But I was pretty close. My dude had a bad ass face with a nasty scar down the side. Looked like a big mean Jack Webb. I had all sorts of armor and gizmos. Make sure and choose wisely with the alien prostitute. I didn't and missed it |

It's almost unexplainable how awesome it truly is. You have to play it to truly appreciate it. Guns, space, intense fire fights, exploring the galaxy with the ability to explore random planets, and you get to destroy one if the biggest threats to the human race, I think I just creamed myself... |

Quoted: It was one of my favorite XBox exclusives, easy way to waste 40 hours or so. The 3rd one is due out shortly. My first real combat in the game, I got my ass kicked by these big giant tripod or quadripod Geth/Robot or whatever it was. 3 of them in the open field I exposed myself for like a second before finding cover and 1 hit from these things killed me. I got really frusterated and just quit playing the game after that. ![]() Haven't played since. Thinking about retrying it. |

Excellent game. I played it for a bit, thought "Meh" and put it on the shelf for years. I then got hooked on RPGs after playing Fallout3 and New Vegas and gave it another shot. Awesome!
I then picked up ME2 used and enjoyed the hell out of that. ME3 is on preorder.
If you decide you like the RPG genre, check out Red Dead Redemption too. Another good sandbox game. And of course Skyrim, if you like swords, magic and arrows to the knee. |

Haven't played since. Thinking about retrying it. I remember that is why I originally shelved it. I am used to FPS run-and-gun games and Mass Effect relies on squad movement, cover, power usage, etc. I usually want my options to be shoot, reload or throw a grenade. |

Quoted: The whole driving around in the rover thing sucks and combat action can be slow and the story line takes forever because you have to run around and ask a bazillion questions but other than that, it's okay. ![]() Mining in the first one did get sucky. Much improved in 2. |
The only thing I did not like about the 2nd was the magazines for the rifle. I much preferred the overheat of the first one. I always ran two psychics and my character as the soldier. This seemed to act a sword and shield. Well I would run out of bullets while I was moving my guys into position. |

Without a doubt one of the best RPGs to date. An excellent story, plot twists, great characters, great voice acting and a good ending. The inventory system kind of sucked ass, but it didn't get unmanageable until late in the game. They fixed it in ME2, but brought in some elements I didn't care for, but it was still a great sequel to a great game. And I'm looking forward to ME3, that is if I can ever finish Skyrim with this arrow in my knee.

Awesome game. Great storyline, and a truly real, old-school, Asimov/Niven type universe they've created. I could spend 2-3 hours just reading the codex for backstory info (explanations of technology, cultures, and history). The setting for this game is amazingly fleshed-out and would make a great sci-fi novel. Some of the gameplay (especially the side quests and the mining) are repetitive, but they only take what would be an A++ game an make it a straight A. |

Much improved in 2. No...no, not really...I thought the whole scanning the planet thing in 2 was a hunge waste of time. I would rather have to explore a few more rooms during the missions to find the crap I need to upgrade. |
Mass Effect 1 & 2 are both great. I think overall, I liked 2 more. Some people say ME1 has a better story. They were both good IMO, and actually the main plot elements of ME1's story are nearly a complete ripoff of Star Control 2 & 3. They even took the repetitive resource collecting from SC2 and put it in ME1. Side missions in ME1 were very repetitive and cookie cutter.
Anyway, ME2 has better gameplay and an awesome soundtrack. One of my favorite parts of ME2 was the fleshed out and detailed interior of the Normandy. Man I wish I had my own Normandy 2 sometimes. So yeah they are awesome games. I can't wait for ME3. |

A few minutes of scanning, insanely fast with the upgrades, versus hauling ass for half an hour in the buggy? Much improved. A game ain't a game if there isn't some grind to it... |
